Born into a loving family in Lodz, Poland, Simon's life was upended by the Shoah (holocaust).
He dedicated his life to recreating the family he lost, and was determined to live his life recapturing the spirit and joy of the life and lives that were stolen from him.
Philosophy

Simon made the most of every day. There was no time to waste, with so many things to be done.
Saying "yes" was a hallmark of his existence, aiding and assisting all those in need who came his way.
Simon inspired people around the world with his can-do attitude, overcoming any obstacle placed in his way.

Family was everything to Simon. He lived for the moments they shared together, celebrated their successes and comforted them when needed.
There was no such thing as in-laws, distant cousins or relatives he wouldn't speak to. Everyone was family and he cared for them all.
